about

To complement the Elementary vinyl / cd album, 2006 finally sees the release of The Elements East Morton rehearsal sessions. Recorded between 10th & 12th June 1981, this 45 minute audio compilation was taped one week before they booked into September Sound Studios, Golcar, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England (The studio closed down in the mid 1980’s and is now a care home!) to record their debut album Elementary.

Featuring band members:-
Rosemary Robb - Vocals
Christina Willett - Drums & Backing Vocal
Ian (Spud) Taylor - Keyboards & Sax
Steven (Stan Greenwood) - Guitars
Roger (Trotwood) Nowell - Bass Guitar

Interesting to listen to are the original versions of Lies and Waltz with Rose on vocals. These later resurfaced as Skeletal Family son s re sung by original Elements backing vocalist Anne Marie Hurst (Waltz was renamed This Time on Futile Combat)

By 1982 Rose & Christina had left and with the recruitment of Steve Crane on drums the band began their metamorphosis in November 1982 to Skeletal Family.

Please note, as these tapes were originally recorded 38 years ago, please expect slight reduction in sonic quality, especially from the earlier sessions. Re-mastering was undertaken from original studio tapes and digitally reprocessed / enhanced. Any audio defects present, originate from master tape degeneration and are not a fault inherent in compact disc.
